California State University, Dominguez Hills Child and Infant
Dominguez Hills, CA
Client: Bielski Ladowicz Architects
As part of the campus wide development, the University authorized construction of two new buildings
consisting of a new child care and a new infant care center. The buildings are located at the
northeast corner of the campus adjacent to Victoria Street, on an existing vacant site. The facility
includes also includes a playground area serving both buildings.
Civil Works prepared the site civil engineering portion of the project. Several preliminary site layout
alternatives were prepared, including preliminary grading, to determine the preferred site layout,
drainage and utility layout. Final documents included horizontal control, precise grading, drainage,
and utility services for water and sewer. New domestic and fire water services were installed,
requiring coordination and approval from the local water district. Sewer was connected to an existing
on-campus system approximately 500 feet away.
Project was processed through and approved by DSA.
